Kia ora and Namaste Whānau,
My name is Shikha Wadhwa and I take this opportunity to introduce myself as a qualified early childhood educator (Provisional registered) and mother of 3 years old. With a background in Engineering, I found a new calling when I moved from India to culturally diverse land of Aotearoa in 2019 to join my husband. I love the value Ngākau which embraces the cultural diversity and abilities of all learners. I believe in providing a safe, nurturing, and rich learning environment to our tamariki.
I believe that each child is unique and comes with different backgrounds, interests, and skills. As a Kaiako, I value each child's strengths, interests, skills, the role of whānau, and the cultural knowledge they bring with them. Throughout my practice, I try my best to incorporate the Māori values of whanauntanga and Manaakitanga to create a trustworthy and respectful environment by building responsive and collaborative relationships with tamariki, their whānau, and team members.
Whakatauki: “Ko te ahurei o te tamaiti arahia o tatou mahi - Let the uniqueness of the child guide our work”
